- Age
All our outdoor activities currently require participants to be 18 years old or over, or else to be accompanied by a parent/ guardian. Indoor climbing sessions are open to children age 3+. Children age 3 and 4 must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian. Children 5+ can participate in sessions unaccompanied by a parent/guardian.
climbing and abseiling are great fun for small children and can be tailored to most ages. We can offer sessions outdoors and indoors, suitable for children age 3 upwards.
2. Awareness of Risk
The Outdoor and adventurous activities provided by Climb Assynt often involve learning new skills in unfamiliar environments. As such these activities have an element of risk, which includes a danger of personal injury or death. Participants and/or their parents/guardians undertaking these activities should be aware of and accept these risks before booking a session. Climb Assynt has done its utmost to assess and manage any risks involved, however although hiring an instructor greatly reduces this risk, it cannot fully eliminate it, as the activities offered by Climb Assynt carry an inherent and inevitable element of risk which, however small, cannot be fully illuminated. participants and / or their parents/ guardians should be fully aware of this, as well as their own responsibility to take any advice given by an instructor. Climb Assynt reserves the right to cancel or modify any activity if it believes there to be unacceptable risk attached in offering such an activity to the public. Climb Assynt’s decision is at its sole discretion.
3. Physical capability
Upon booking you will be requested to provide details of any impairments ( Physical mental or psychological) which may effect your participation in the activity you are booking. These details are treated with utmost respect and privacy and are used solely to help us to tailor the suitability of an activity to our clients needs. We are experienced in, and greatly value, creating sessions that are accessible and welcoming to everyone, and having details of health and previous experience of clients before a session helps us to choose suitable activities and venues. However If a client arrives for a session with an impairment which has not been mentioned or is more severe than expected, and if this may cause it to prove dangerous for the session to continue as planned, then the instructor has rights to modify or cancel the session.
4. Weather
Furthermore outdoor climbing is a weather dependant activity and while under most weather conditions we are still able to run fun and fulfilling sessions; if extreme weather conditions do occur ( eg heavy rain snow or wind) we may have to cancel, modify or postpone a session. Weather forecast for your day of booking and any potential poor weather plan B will be descused openly with you on booking.
In the event of unexpected extreme weather causing climb Assynt to have to cut a session short a partial refund will be issued , in relation to the length of time cut short off the session. if the session has not yet begun and has to be cancelled due to poor weather or other safety concerns, a full refund will be issued.
5. Booking
Payment must be made either on booking or 14 days before the session , with a deposit made on booking. A refund will be issued to any bookings paid for in full, prior to 14 days before the date of the session. However after this time a refund will not be possible.
6. Data protection
Any data or personal details shared with climb Assynt will be treated with utmost respect and privacy. Climb Assynt will never share data with third parties without consent. Climb Assynt will use any information given so as to be able to tailor its activities to your needs.
Any contact details given to Climb Assynt will be used to update you with any important information regarding your booking. Your contact details will never be sold or passed on to further third parties.
